Cavtat, Croatia 5th - 9th October 2004
An international congress venue at: Hotel Croatia,
Frankopanska 10, 20210 Cavtat, Republic of Croatia

A full and exciting programme is awaiting delegates attending the 2nd European Whitefly Symposium at Cavtat, Republic of Croatia from 5th to 9th October 2004, hosted by Dr Katja Zanic and her colleagues from the Institute for Adriatic Crops and Karst Reclamation - Split (Institut za jadranske kulture I melioraciju krsa), Croatia.

Whiteflies continue to maintain a high pest status within Europe where crop losses are caused through direct feeding and indirectly through the transmission of plant viruses. As new whitefly species and viruses spread into and within Europe new problems are to be expected. Croatia, where whitefly problems have recently escalated, will provide an excellent location for scientists, industrialists, growers and plant health officials to address many of these issues.

Four scientific themes Top covered by this symposium are:

Faunistics, Systematics & Ecology,
Whitefly Transmitted Viruses & Epidemiology,
Whitefly Natural Enemies,
Whitefly control and Integrated Pest Management

Each led by leading experts within the field.
The official language will be English.

This symposium will also aim to address the recent advances that have been made within European crop protection towards satisfying current legislation and effectively controlling problems.

sponsoring EWSN please contact us or email the events organiser.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS Top

Prospective delegates must submit their full edited abstracts before the extended deadline of July 16th 2004 for publication, however candidates must submit their abstract titles - as soon as possible. Abstracts can also include graphics. Commercial companies exhibiting at EWSII can publish product information within the abstract publication. Please contact the EWSN office for further details. Note page space is limited, see instructions in the abstract template document.

Submit your abstract after you have first downloaded a copy of the template file EWSii-Abstract01.doc. Rename this file then send your completed file to the Symposium General Secretariat (see instructions in file copy). This is the preferred method to maintain your document style and graphics. Alternatively use the Web Form Submission method only if your abstract is brief and you do not need text font styling or graphics. Send your abstract as an email attachment or post as a CD-ROM disk accordingly.
